Guide to Student Visa Application Process
Student Visa or Student Permit, as called in several countries, is permission from the respective country for student to enter and study in that country as a full-time student. A Student Visa allows you, the student, to study in an accredited University, college or other educational institution in Canada. But, it’s important that you must enroll for a study program which gives you a certificate, diploma or a degree at the end of your program.
Also, the academic institution you are applying at must accept international students, as well as must be authorized and approved by Canadian federal or provincial government.
Following are guidelines on various steps involved in a Canadian Student Visa application approval process:
Step #1
Visa Counseling
We, at Maple Consultancy, have a team of consultants who provide you with all guidance and counseling you need to submit your application. We also guide you on all the documents you need to provide, as asked by Canadian High Commission.
Step#2
Gathering necessary Visa documents
Visa application process requires you to provide huge number of documents with your application form. Your Maple Consultancy counselor will provide you with information on documents you need to gather, in order to apply for your Visa Permit to Canada.
Some basic documents that you would be asked to gather by our counseling team includes Passport, passport size photographs, scholarship letter (If applicable), work experience certificate (if applicable), unconditional letter of acceptance and more.
You will also be guided on various other academic and financial documents that you might be required to present, with your Canadian Visa application form. Our objective is to guide you with all the documents related information and answer your queries on same.
Step#3
Guidelines on Visa for provincial regions
In case, you might want to apply for an educational institute situated in Provence of Quebec, you will be required to apply for CAQ or Certificate of Acceptance. Your Maple Consultancy counselor will also provide you with all the process guidelines to apply for CAQ.
Step#4
Application submission at VFS
Once you have gathered all the necessary documents and filled your application form, we guide you on your application submission. You must know that Canadian High Commission accepts Visa applications only through VFS. Not only do we assist you on nearby VFS Canada centers, but also help you with payment procedure.
For your Student Permit application, you will be asked for two separate payments. First set of payment has to be made towards student visa application fee and second is made for VFS service fee.
Step#5
Medical examination
Students applying for Student Visa Permit under SPP have to fill a medical form, available at VFS office. Upon submission of the form, the student has to undergo medical examination done by panel of doctors, assigned by Canadian High Commission. Remember if you are applying under SPP, you must attach your medical report with your application form.
Students applying for Visa application outside SPP can either take medical test at the time of their visa application submission or after the application is approved, by Canadian High Commission. If you are applying outside SPP, you must know that your Visa is approved and stamped only after your medical reports are verified and approved.
Step#6
Information on additional documents required
Chances are that once your application review process starts, you might be asked to present some additional academic, financial or other documents. Your Maple Consultancy counselor will then sit with you and guide you on papers you need to provide.
Step#7
Pre-departure guidelines
Once your application is approved and Visa gets stamped, Canadian Embassy sends your passport back to VFS office. You can either collect it personally from the office or receive it via mail within five days. We then go through all the permit related documents sent to you to guide you on final formalities required, before departure.
